Gary Allan Chooses Best Songs Around and Gets Personal on Get Off On the Pain
Gary Allan's new album, Get Off On the Pain, is available now featuring the title cut as the new single. His
previously release, "Today," is also included on the project, but if you look at the liner notes, you'll notice Gary
didn't have a hand in writing either of those songs. In fact, Gary co-wrote just five of the album's tracks. He
tells us, "I just write as much as I can, and then I take my best, and I put against the best that my friends are
writing and try to remove my ego and let it all fall."
Gary feels like he got "out-written" on this album, but there is one emotional song he co-wrote that closes the
album. "No Regrets" speaks directly to Gary's late wife Angela, who took her own life in 2004 following a bout with
depression and severe headaches. Look for Gary talking more about that tune in the cover story of Country Weekly.
